Talk about TV shows. 1 show per thread. Lets keep it tidy.

I've seen 4 or 5 episodes of that but was a bit slow and the acting was a bit shoddy in parts?
Has it actually got any better? I'm still downloading the eps just not watching them.

I'm at the same point as you. It's not too slow, they are trying to get across the characters etc although the acting is pretty poor from some of them.

All electricity suddenly cuts out and no-one apparently knows why although two brothers may know the reason. The show takes place 15 years after the power goes out where everyone is living in small little communities with militia taking control of everyone. The militia come to get one of the brothers but he ends up dying and his daughter tries to find the other brother before the militia.

Good start.
Spoiler:Highlight the text in the black area to see it.To be honest it has gotten to the point where I can't remember intricate details of that happened. But the unsullied bit should be cool. Plenty more giants to come later on.

Unsurprisingly, GoT has been renewed for Season 4. Will be coming next year.

I don't really bother with 1080 unless it is a film I think I am going to like. Stick to 720p. Even at 42" looks perfectly fine and has same audio as 1080 in most cases.

well 720 is ok... but on my new 40" tv is still looks a bit pixleated if there are any dark corners in the room. i was going to ask you lot if you reckon a decent hdmi cable would be better than a cheap one... also my usb player goes thru a hdmi splitter box... do you reckon that makes much odds... i must admit ive been a little disapointed with some downloads ive done in 720...

Some encodes are rushed and you get glitches and the quality can be poor at times although it only affects TV not films. To be honest, a small glitch and poor gradients I can live with, I'm not paying for these shows so can't really complain.
Spoiler:Highlight the text in the black area to see it.Example being in the first episode of GoT when Sam is walking through the snow, looks absolutely awful but still more than watchable.
HDMI cable it digital, either works or it doesn't work. Get the cheapest ones you can. I've had two fail and they were both the more expensive ones that the shop were selling for £15 a cable but threw them in with the TV. My other cables which I have bought for £2-3 are working great.
