
* Level cap raised to 85, up from the previous level cap of 80 in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.
* The zones introduced in the original World of Warcraft, the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, are being given aesthetic changes, total revamps and new towns, as well as new high and low level quests, and will be redesigned to support player controlled flying mounts; before this, these areas were not designed for flying.[4]
* Eight new dungeons and five new raids will be added with more to be released with later patches.
* Old dungeons, such as The Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep, will be revamped into level 85 dungeons with normal and heroic difficulties.
* New Battlegrounds and a new World-PvP zone, similar to Wintergrasp, Tol Barad.
* Archaeology, a new secondary skill.
* Rated Battleground systems allowing arena-level rewards from battleground groups.
* Max-level non-experience based progression through the 'Paths of the Titans'.
* Guild 'leveling' and achievement systems.
* Newly accessible areas such as Mount Hyjal, Uldum, the Sunken City of Vash'jir, and the Twilight Highlands.
